
I found this poor parasol at an antique shop a month or two ago. Unlike most of my treasured finds, this one had seen much use in better days.
Two tips were broken with the fabric floating free


The seam had ripped along one of the ribs


The fabric had started to shred next to one of the tips

There are also a few moth holes scattered close to the top:

And there's a few chips in the handle, and the wood of the shaft is worn:


Luckily with some TLC, it was repairable, and the mends are nicely hidden under the trim and lace I've added.

closed: 23" in length
open: 35" in diameter
The mothholes I couldn't do too much with, but as this is now more for protection from sun than rain, leaking is not a concern, and they do add a certain shabby chic charm to the piece.
